On Tuesday, February 24, 2009 the City Council tabled consideration of the proposed 1% sales tax and 1% hotel tax for the Hospitality Improvement Zone (HIZ) Business Development District (BDD). Council will again consider the tax in four weeks. Staff will host a meeting with all the effected businesses on Friday March 6, 2009 at 4:00 pm at City Hall, room 404. Staff will hand deliver notices to all the effected businesses. The purpose of the tax is to assist hospitality zone businesses to improve. The funds would be put back into the businesses in the district. The current BDD boundaries are shown on the several entries below. Based on public input from the effected businesses, some properties may be taken out the district.
